Arrive in bustling Tokyo. Check in to your hotel for the next three nights. This evening you will meet our Tour Guide for an introduction with your fellow travellers.
Day 2 | Tokyo | B-L-D
Spend the day exploring bustling Tsukiji Fish Market, Ueno Park (the best place to view cherry blossoms), the famous Asakusa Temple, Odaiba City, Ginza Street and more. Enjoy a fabulous welcome dinner with your group.
Day 3 | Tokyo | B/-/-
Today your guide will take you on the metro (rail) as you explore Tokyo like a local. The morning will be spent at Meiji Shrine, then travel to eclectic Harajuku where you will get a taste of modern Japanese culture. Visit the Shibuya Sky building for a panoramic view before marveling at the cherry blossoms along Meguro River. Your tour will finish in Shinjuku where you can continue to explore or return to the hotel at your own pace.
Day 4 | Tokyo — Hakone | B/L/D
Today you travel towards one of the natural highlights of Japan, majestic Mount Fuji. Stop at Gotemba Peace Park and be in awe of the chalky Stupa and explore Lake Ashi on a Pirate Cruise. Travel by gondola on the Owakudani Ropeway and admire the spectacular views.
Day 5 | Hakone — Mount Fuji — Takayama | B/L/D
Travel to the famous 5th Station of Mount Fuji, where you can admire the spectacular views and magnificent mountain. The tallest peak in the country, it is surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Transfer to Takayama for the next two nights.
Day 6 | Takayama | B/-/D
Your guide will take you on a full day tour with visits to the Exhibition Hall and the Folkcraft Museum. Wander through the quaint streets filled with traditional thatched roof buildings and merchant homes.
Day 7 | Takayama — Shirakawago — Kanazawa | B/L/D
On your way to Kanazawa you will stop at the World Heritage Listed Shirakawago. Spend the afternoon admiring the gardens and castle of Kenrokuen before checking in to your hotel in Kanazawa.
Day 8 | Kanazawa — Kyoto | B/-/D
Transfer to Kyoto and visit Kyomitzu Temple. Learn about traditional tea customs during a beautiful tea ceremony, before checking in to your hotel for two nights.
Day 9 | Kyoto — Nara — Kyoto | B/L/-
Spend the morning in beautiful Nara exploring Todaji Temple and feeding the friendly bowing deer in the Park. The inquisitive deer are used to visitors. Enjoy a sushi making experience for lunch before returning to Kyoto and visit the sparkling Golden Pavilion and walking the cherry blossom lined Path of Philosophy.
Day 10 | Kyoto — Hiroshima | B/-/D
Wander through the famous red Torii Gates at Fushimi Inari Shrine and marvel at the towering bamboo in Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Take the Shinkansen Bullet Train to Hiroshima for two nights stay.
Day 11 | Hiroshima | B/L/-
Visit Miyajima Island in the morning by ferry. Visit Itsukushima shrine and admire the only floating Tori gate in Japan. Absorb the atmosphere of the Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Park.
Day 12 | Hiroshima — Himeji — Osaka | B/L/D
Take the morning train to Himeji Castle. Continue to Osaka, enjoy an Aqualiner cruise around Osaka Castle, and check in to your hotel before your final group dinner.
