Guinea

We’ve reviewed our advice for Guinea and continue to advise exercise a high degree of caution. Higher levels apply in some areas. There are ongoing heightened political and social tensions, including in the capital, Conakry and other towns. The situation may deteriorate without warning. Remain vigilant. Avoid protests and public gatherings, as they can turn violent. Follow the advice of local authorities and monitor local media for updates.

Fuel and water shortages occur regularly. Ensure that you maintain stores of food, water and emergency supplies.

The Australian High Commission in Accra has very limited capacity to provide consular assistance in Guinea.

We advise:

Exercise a high degree of caution in Guinea overall due to the risk of civil unrest.

Higher levels apply in some areas.
