MS BOUDICCA

You have probably heard off Fred Olsen Cruises. Founded in 1848, operating with 2 small sailings ships back in the days, now operating and still owned and run by the family, a small English cruise line with 4  classic ships and one river boat.

The fleet consists of small and comfortable ships well looked after:

Black Watch

Braemar

Balmoral

The Brabant River boat

and

The MV BOUDICCA

Boudica or Boudicca, also known as Boadicea or Boudicea, and in Welsh as Buddug, was a QUEEN of the British Celtic Iceni tribe who led an uprising against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire in AD 60 or 61. She died shortly after its failure and was said to have poisoned herself.

Some information below:

The ship is an old Vessel build back in 1973 where she was christened Royal Viking.  With many changes of Owner ship. (Golden Princess back in 1993 just to name one).

Old Style ship but new Art deco style inside.

And well looked after ship.

With only 28,372 GRT a rather small ship of today’s standard with a capacity of 900 Guest and 324 Crew.

She reminds me of CM,  so I would rate her a 3.5 – 4 Star ship.

The ship is registered in the Bahamas, however the ship is English, so the British pound is  the currency on-board.
