On 1 August local Amhara militia (Fano) took control of several areas of Lalibela in North Wollo Zone in Amhara Regional State. Local authorities advise against all road travel to Lalibela until further notice and flights to and from Lalibela have been suspended. Mobile and internet networks may be disrupted. Stay vigilant and monitor local media for the latest update. Follow the advice of local authorities.
